FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve been increasing revenue for businesses using websites and digital marketing since 2002, here are some of the more popular questions we’ve been asked over that time.

I’m new to this whole website thing, what happens?

Don’t worry, that’s why we’re here, to guide you through the process. We’ve been doing this for many years and have a clear process to follow. We’ll show you that later.

How much does a website cost?

Usually when people ask us for a rough cost, they understand that it’s very hard to give. The cost of a website can vary depending on many different factors, many of which we just don’t know yet. Our very basic business websites generally start from £2000 and this figure will increase depending on your unique business needs.

Will my website work on mobile devices?

Yes, all the websites we design work across mobile devices, tablets, laptops and desktops. Almost all web agencies will create mobile friendly websites, but not all are created to the same quality. Check out our video further down the page that discusses how we created a high quality mobile friendly homepage for Henneke.

What is a Content Management System?

In your new website, a content management system (CMS) will allow you to login with a username and password to add/edit any website content (i.e. content management). We build websites for our clients in CMS that make it easy and quick for you to make changes without needing to ask us.

Do you provide training for us to make changes to the website?

We know it’s important for you to understand how to operate your website. This is why we provide training to you via video, so that you can dip into the training whenever you need.

Can you design our logo?

No, sorry. We focus our skills and services on websites and digital marketing. But please get in touch as we can send you to some people we know who do great logos.

What is web hosting?

The Internet is basically made up of lots of different computers located all over the world, each storing websites. These computers (or web servers) will need to store your new website too to make it available for everyone to see. As part of our web hosting service we’ll provide you with quick loading, secure website.

What is a domain name?

This is the address of your website on the Internet. For example, bbc.co.uk is the domain name for the BBC’s main website.

How long does it take to plan, design & build a website?

The length of time depends on many factors, including the size and complexity of your website, where the content is coming from, response to communication between us. A very basic website could take 4 weeks from beginning to end.

Do I need my own domain name and web hosting?

Yes, you need to have your own domain name. When it comes to web hosting – fast and secure websites are a large part of the success we bring to our clients – you don’t have to worry about web hosting, we’ll handle it.

Do you write the content for our website?

Yes, we certainly do. The text on your website is one of the most powerful parts of your website. A website that looks great, but has poorly written copy, won’t do you any favours. Professionally written copy is often the difference between success and failure.

Can you help us with Search Engine Optimisation & Google Adwords Management?

Yes, it’s one of our specialties. We’ve been optimising websites to do well in Google since the early 2000s. We’ve also been managing Google Adwords campaigns since 2005. That all means we’ve got plenty of experience to help you crack it.

What is Google Adwords?

Adwords is Google’s Advertising service. One part of Google’s service helps advertisers like you show your adverts at the top of Google’s search results. Adwords can also enable you to show your adverts on other websites that you specifically target. Google’s service even allows you to show specific adverts to people who have visited your website already – it’s powerful stuff.

What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?

To put it simply, SEO covers a range of strategies and tactics that we’d apply to your website and also away from your website. The goal of this is to increase the number of relevant visitors that come to your website from Google’s organic search results. It gets much more complex than that, which is where we help.

Do you do eCommerce and online shops?

Yes, we certainly do. Get in touch and we can certainly help.

Do you build education websites that will allow me to sell online courses?

Yes, we certainly do. Get in touch, we’d love to discuss this more.
